Collaboration of Tokoname ware and Kutani ware. This is a collaboration between Tokoname ware and Kutani ware. The black mud kyusu made by the second generation Tokoname ware traditional artisan, Umehara Hirotaka, is hand painted by Kutani ware painter, Tamura Tsugimori.

This is an excellent example of traditional craftsmanship by a potter who has continued to produce pottery for many years in Tokoname and Kutani, two pottery producing areas that have continued to preserve tradition.

The kyusu is made of red clay and is made with the concept of being simple, light, and easy to use.

We skillfully combine various techniques such as blue grain, red grain, gold leaf, silver leaf, and transfer painting.

The painting is done in consideration of the balance with the shape of the kyusu.

Sera mesh net:Aside from being easy to hold and having a comfortable spout The reason why Tokonameyaki teapots are widely trusted is that they are easy to hold and have a comfortable spout. The reason why Tokonameyaki ware kyusu is widely trusted is the sophistication of the tea strainer. The craftsmen have worked hard to produce this product. This is a traditional technique that Tokonameyaki teapots are proud of.

Tokoname: One of Japan's six oldest kilns, a town of pottery steeped in history. Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture, is located on the west coast of the Chita Peninsula facing Ise Bay. It is the gateway to the Chubu International Airport (Centrair), and has a long, narrow topography of 6km east to west and 16km north to south. Tokoname is known as a city of pottery throughout the country. Tokoname pottery, which has a history of 1,000 years, is one of the six oldest kilns in Japan.
