Kutani Ware Hanazume Teacup
"Hanazume" is a Kutani pattern created from the end of the Meiji era to the Taisho era, and as the name suggests, it is a pattern in which flowers of the four seasons are carefully laid out as if in a small space.
Shiro Mizuta introduced this Hanazume style in 1913 in Kanazawa.
As the name implies, the pattern depicts flowers of the four seasons as if they were carefully laid out even in the smallest space. The pattern is full of gorgeousness reminiscent of Yuzen kimonos, from the eye-catching large flowers of chrysanthemums and peonies to the pretty plum blossoms and small flowers, and is highly popular even among people overseas as one of the most beautiful Japanese designs.
